Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov was a Russian communist and the head of government of the Russian Republic. Although one of the most influential leaders of our time, Lenin certainly was controversial and responsible for establishing an authoritarian regime under which millions of people died. Lenin died due to cerebral hemorrhage and left behind a legacy that is unlikely ever to end.
